Zoorasia

Visited Zoorasia on Saturday.

We wouldn't have visited this awesome zoo if it wasn't for Suga -san. You would have probably remembered her from our IKEA trip and my first masak-makan in Japan.
She invited us over to her house last week but we couldn't make it because we had to attend Neesa chan's open school day.
So, this week, we promised to go and visit her. She, on the hand, had a brilliant idea-a visit to yet another great place in Yokohama.

The journey from our apartment to our meeting point at Tama Plaza station via the subway and rapid train took us about one hour. And it took us another 45 minutes to reach the zoo via Suga-san's car. The long journey made Reina chan really tired and she took a short nap in the car (Suga's hubby, Nao-san, was not with us as he had a golf tournament that day).

Neesa chan was extremely happy when we reached the zoo (she knew nothing about the trip to the zoo as we kept everything under wraps prior to the journey, in case we had to cancel the plan).

We had no high hopes for Zoorasia before going there. We thought that it would be another version of Ueno Zoo. But we thought wrong. Zoorasia is relatively new, having celebrated its 11th anniversary. It was also clean, well kept and child-friendly.

Have a look at all the pics. (Warning: Not all pics of the animals are shown here)

African Jungle

The Playground: Waku-waku Hiroba

Tak dapat naik kuda betul, patung kuda pun jadi la...

Since the stroller was abandoned by Reina chan who would rather walk and round about, guess who took over?

Dah sampai Australia!

Where we had lunch

Neesa chan and the penguins

The penguins loved her pink hat

Reina chan had no luck with the penguins :(

It was drizzling the whole day

Looking for Paka-paka Hiroba, where you can ride ponies and pet them.

No pony ride that day due to the drizzle. Neesa chan was disappointed but managed to crack a laugh while feeding the horses.

Good horsey

The Okapi bus

We were too tired to walk back and decided to ride the bus

Time to buy some souvenirs :)

We ventured the Asian Tropical Forest, Central Asian Highland, Oceanian Grassland, Aussie Hill, Japanese Countryside, Amazon Jungle and African Tropical Rain Forest amidst the drizzle.

And if the long walk wasn't enough, we continued the second phase of our Saturday stroll at Tama Plaza. What a day it was!
