We made do with a friend's second-hand camera before making it legally ours weeks after we first borrowed the camera from him. Since the camera was a 'third-hand' camera (eventhough unused by the second owner i.e. my friend-don't ask me why he even bought it in the first place!), I felt that the camera was not 'the' camera that we were looking for. Hey, I am not degrading the camera or criticising my friend's taste in choosing a camera or anything... Just look at how my pictures turned out to be in my fotopages...ok what??? Like one friend said-it's not the camera that does the magic, it's the photographer... yg penting hati mau ikhlas...
Anyway, back to the camera story... it's this teeny-weeny thing that has been bothering me-this camera really 'makan ' battery!. Maybe that was the reason why the first owner sold it off. And here in Japan, where cameras are cheap , it is better to buy a new camera than to buy a new battery for the camera.
We figured that maybe we could get a good deal during the New Year Sale. So, we went on this camera hunting mission for more than 4 days before actually bumping into this one (Idhamu-san was the one who is responsible of this bumping episode...) The price was ok (relatively the same as the market price, but of course a tad higher than kakaku.co.jp) BUT what interested us the most was the fact that we would be given a discount if we were to trade in an old camera during the purchase. The shop was willing to pay us three times the price we paid for the old camera. This means that it is slightly cheaper than the ones advertised in kakaku.co.jp. Plus there were a lot of other goodies in store for us. What else were we waiting for??
"Bye bye old Nikon coolpix, Hello new Nikon D40x. So,you guys might wanna check out my fotopages after this... Tehehe...
