Wok with Din

Worasak,or fondly known as Din, has always strike me as a shy yet stylish young man.I have never thought that this kohai of mine, who hails from Thailand, can be a good cook. He was the one who had been feeding us with stories of how much he spends on food everyday. The same topic even popped-up during our senpai-kohai Directed Study class last week. He claimed that he was too lazy to cook. So, when he offered to cook Tomyam Kung and Green Curry , everybody was pleasantly surprised.

He kept his promise and brought the two mouth-watering dishes to the lab this morning. I had the pleasure of being the first to taste the food . The smell of the green curry was too tempting for me. Tak tahan godaan... Haha...

Both the Green Curry and Tomyam Kungwere delicious. I found out later that he inherited the recipe from his mom, who owns a small restaurant back in Thailand. Padanle terer masak... Dah kena drill dengan mak before coming to Japan rupanya!

Not only did we have Tomyam Kung and Green Curry for lunch, we also had chicken curry thanks to Amy, "pala-pala" courtesy of Euis, and home-made jelly cocktail prepared by Jass. Me? I did not cook anything. I only sponsored the chicken, the pot, the container, the cutlery as well as extra rice and paper plate for everybody.

It was obvious that everybody (including Mariko) enjoyed the lunch. The chef, however, was not happy with his Tomyam Kung and decided to cook the same menu again (Yatta!! ) He wanted to try his hand on a hotter version of Tomyam kung tomorrow but we told him to postpone it till next week. We are thinking of having another round of pot-luck next Tuesday to celebrate two birthdays. Chef Din might add another dish to his menu, too. What would it be? We'll just have to wait and see.

p/s: nampaknya gambar dah berjangkit penyakit xleh rotate...jass, have you found the cure?
