She had been watching Idhamu-san showing off his skills a hundred times before and we could sense that she wanted to try her hands at the game.
So, when Abang Kupang asked her whether she wanted to join the bowling taikai, SHE said yes. Amboi... pepandai jer cakap nak. Bukannya free tau! Sib baik Idhamu-san was willing to fork out the money just to see how his daughter would fare in the sports department. Kuah sapalah nak tumpah ke nasi ni??.( I was silently keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the kuah is not from my pot. tehehe...)
She was excited, jumping up and down when we reached the bowling centre.
She was even more excited when the time came for us to choose the ball for her (susah la nak cari bola boling paling ringan warna pink or with some cartoon characters on it...)
We settled with one green and one pink 5 kg ball for her.
After that she kept asking when would it be her turn to throw the ball. She was not happy being the third bowler for her team. Apa kes asyik nak nombor satu jer...
It was funny seeing her carry the heavy ball with all her might before releasing the ball from her grip and letting the ball work its way zig-zagging along the lane. Thank goodness for the barriers placed channels. She was supposed to play bumper-bowling with 6 other kids.
But it somehow turned out to be a slow-motion game of pinball (her bowling ball got stuck right in front of the pins once due to her lemah-gemalai throw and resulted in a 5-minute inter-mission).
Idhamu-san and I took turn to monitor her. After a while she got a hang of it and could play without our supervision.
I should say that her performance for a first timer and longkang-free lane is not bad at all.
